Deacon CARE Groups
A ministry of the deacon board, C.A.R.E. stands for Communication, Assimilation, Reaching-out and Engaging. Each deacon receives a list of names and addresses of members who will make up their C.A.R.E. community. An initial letter is sent to each church member from the deacon responsible for that C.A.R.E. community. Afterwards, each deacon is responsible for contacting the members of his or her community at least twice a year. The purpose is to provide a mechanism for more personal contact and care within a large congregation and to provide a potential channel for communication and pastoral care.
