Pinnacle Presbyterian Preschool is an active community of teachers and parents dedicated to raising competent, creative and caring children. Established in 1995, Pinnacle offers an educational program based on best practices in early childhood education and development. Inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), we believe that young children are creative and competent learners, capable of engaging fully with new concepts, building friendships, respect for others and advocating for one’s needs and ideas.
We are committed to hiring, developing and supporting the very best early childhood educators. We believe that children excel when they construct their own knowledge through investigation and play. Teachers and children research and co-construct knowledge together in small groups, fostering curiosity, building early literacy and numeracy skills, encouraging each child to experience success, to develop a positive image of themselves, and the world around them. When learning is the product of the child’s guided construction rather than simply the teacher’s transmission and the child’s absorption, learning becomes individualized. This personalized approach helps to ensure that children finish preschool ready for kindergarten intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially – with the confidence to become talented life-long learners.
What is NAEYC?
Accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is the mark of a great preschool. Founded in 1926, NAEYC is one of the most respected organizations in the field of education. To earn NAEYC Accreditation, Pinnacle Presbyterian Preschool went through an extensive self–study process, measuring our program and its services against NAEYC Standards and more than 400 related Accreditation Criteria. Our program received NAEYC Accreditation after an on–site visit by NAEYC Assessors. In addition, NAEYC accredited programs are subject to unannounced visits during their accreditation, which must be renewed every five years. Learn more about NAEYC.
